Teton Dam Marathon, David Archuleta, and Extravadance! Oh my! Wait...

I'm a photographer for the Scroll (University Newspaper), and throughout the semester I have had some amazing opportunities to getsome awesome shots. My favorite shots were from some pretty big events like The Teton Dam Marathon, an on campus show called "Extravadance," and a David Archuleta concertheld in the Hart Auditorium.

Teton Dam Marathon:

This woman wanted to compete in the 5k that was part of the
Dam Marathon, but throughout the year her health deteriorated until she ended up in a wheelchair. It was a
touching story as the manwith the trophy began to share with the crowd her situation. Tears were seen streaming down many faces as he explained that her family had rallied together to push her the entire way so that her dream would become a reality. A trophywas presented to her as an honorary finisher.

(Right)1st place finisher after finishingthe 26.2 mile course in under 3 hours.

These two saw me taking pictures and decided to show off for the camera. Just outside of Teton, about mile 10.

David Archuleta:

I had the unique experience to cover the David Archuleta concert that came to our school in June. It was probably the biggest thing to come to our little town of Rexburg since BYU-I it self. I wasn't too excited to shoot it, but by the end of everything I had developed more respect for the kid.

David surprised the audience after an encore performance of his best know song "Crush," by breaking out a Hymnbook and singing "Be Still My Soul."
